Rose quartz is a form of pink quartz that gets its colour from varying amounts of titanium, iron, and manganese. It was reputedly gifted as a love token as far back as 600 B.C.E. In Greece and Rome, rose quartz was seen as a gift from Cupid and Eros—the Roman and Greek gods of romantic love, respectively. Romans believed rose quartz prevented early aging and manifested deep soul connections; stories with origins in Egypt say Cleopatra placed pieces of this lovely pink stone in her milk-based facial and bath elixirs. Today, rose quartz is commonly used in spells and enchantments to attract romantic and spiritual love.
